Neck pain is a common problem, with 65% of the population experiencing neck pain at some point in their lives. At any moment in time, more than one in twelve people are suffering neck pain.

Such pain, may be the result of a variety of spine related problems, including prolonged poor posture. As with back pain, spinal trauma caused by motor accidents or from lifting excessive loads, is also very common. There are also certain syndromes associated with neck pain such as whiplash and jaw pain.

Work related neck and upper limb disorders account for up to half of all occupational disorders in Europe.
